Overview

This exciting role is within our Corporate Tax Advisory & Compliance (CTAC) team, based in our Edinburgh or Glasgow offices.

We’re looking for a Corporate Tax Senior Manager who is ready to lead client relationships, deliver impactful projects, be a hands-on leader within the team, and help drive innovation in a growing practice.

Why KPMG CTAC Scotland?

Our CTAC team is a core and growing part of KPMG’s Tax practice, driven by the increasing complexity and profile of tax.

You’ll join a high‑performing team that thrives on collaboration, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. We foster a supportive culture where your contributions are valued, and collective success is celebrated

You’ll work with a diverse mix of clients – from fast‑growing PE‑backed and owner‑managed Scottish businesses through to UK‑listed companies and multinational corporates investing in the UK.

Our client work is interesting and varied. You’ll have the opportunity to shape your portfolio and focus on areas that matter most to you, which may include:

  • Corporate tax compliance
  • Tax reporting and audit
  • BEPS Pillar 2 compliance and advisory
  • Complex UK and international tax advisory, such as tax structuring, refinancing, reorganisations and international expansion

The role could involve a blend of compliance, reporting and advisory; the balance can flex over time, reflecting your experience and development objectives.

Your impact and responsibilities as a senior manager

As a key leader within our CTAC team, you will:

  • Client Leadership: Develop and nurture strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor who understands their commercial objectives and delivers strategic tax advice that directly contributes to their growth and success.
  • Project Delivery: Lead the delivery of work in your areas of focus – whether that’s managing a complex corporate tax compliance and reporting portfolio or overseeing technically challenging advisory projects – with a willingness to be hands-on where it adds value.
  • Team Development: Take ownership of coaching, developing, and inspiring junior and manager-lever team members, supporting their technical development and helping them build confidence with clients.
  • Business Development: Actively identify and progress new business opportunities, working with Directors and Partners to grow our market presence. This will include contributing to proposals, managing tender processes and participating in client pitches
  • Operational Excellence: Play a key role in the running of the CTAC team – including effective resource planning, risk management, budgeting, and performance management – to ensure high‑quality, efficient client delivery.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with specialists across other tax teams, Deal Advisory, Audit and KPMG’s global network to deliver joined‑up, multi‑disciplinary solutions to client issues.
  • Living Our Values: Role model KPMG’s values and culture, fostering an inclusive, supportive and high integrity environment where people feel able to perform at their best.

What you’ll bring:

We’re looking for an experienced UK corporate tax professional who combines strong technical skills with a commercial, people‑focused mindset.

  • Qualified CTA or ACA / CA or equivalent
  • Strong UK corporation tax knowledge and good awareness of related tax and accounting matters
  • Strong analytical skills, intellectual curiosity and a commercial approach to resolving issues and providing advice
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple engagements, work as part of a team and show initiative to drive projects forward
  • A proactive approach to identifying and progressing business opportunities, with a focus on long‑term relationships and value for both KPMG and our clients
  • Sound judgement, including the ability to identify, assess and escalate risk, and to know when to involve other specialists
  • Proven ability to manage a varied portfolio of clients and projects, and to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders (both internal and external)
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, coaching and leading teams, and in fostering a high‑performance, inclusive culture
  • Commitment to continuously developing your technical knowledge, leadership skills and broader business understanding

If you’re looking for a role where you can combine hands‑on client delivery, team leadership and genuine variety in your work – within a supportive, ambitious environment – we’d be keen to hear from you.
