Within The Infrastructure Advisory Group function we are a team full of subject matter experts, but that’s not all. We are responsible for providing best in class support on everything from developing acquisition strategy and raising funds, through to making the deal and integrating the acquisition.

The team consists of seven professionals and has direct access to the expertise of the wider P&U team. We have a plan to double the capacity of the team over the next two years. As such we are looking for high quality candidates to support our growth and development of existing and new service lines. Our team comprises people from different nationalities and backgrounds and diversity is an important element of who we are.

 

What will you be doing?

  • Providing strategic, commercial and regulatory advice on large and complex transactions, leveraging the specialist skills across the P&U team (strategy/market/regulation/cost benchmarking etc)
  • Providing strategic and market advice on energy transition
  • Providing strategic and financial advice on transactions, financial modelling and valuations
  • Supporting the team in the effective planning, delivery and closure of projects, including strategic reviews and analysis. The work will include a combination of analysis, report drafting, and engaging with clients. As you grow in the role you will take on increasing levels of responsibility and exposure for managing projects and client relationships.
  • Contributing to specific business development initiatives, particularly proposals and pitches for new business.
  • Supporting the team develop market intelligence and sector knowledge.
  • Help the team build relationships with key clients across the sector, as well as with other advisors; you will be expected to develop and build out your own internal network across our Power & Utilities business, and beyond.
  • Contributing to ensuring that KPMG's quality and risk management procedures are completed to the appropriate standard

 

What will you need to do it?

  • You will already have a growing level of experience in the workplace, in consulting, utilities sector or M&A advisory with at least two year’s post graduation experience.
  • Experience of working on either energy transition or transactions in the power & utilities sector
  • Strong academic background
  • Ability to work at pace and during intense periods of live transactions
  • Excellent presentation and communications skills
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • You will be comfortable in presenting to clients and to more senior colleagues internally and will have excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • You have a desire to build your understanding of the energy and water policies driving the transition to net zero, including the regulatory frameworks applicable to the energy and water network companies.
  • You will have an understanding how emerging net zero technologies can impact businesses and how they can be successfully implemented.
