Manager - Healthcare Advisory (Modelling)

About the role 

KPMG Advisory helps organisations address complex challenges, improve performance and deliver sustainable change by combining sector expertise, strategic insight and practical delivery support. 

As a Manager in the Healthcare team, you will lead problem-solving, analytics and modelling work for NHS providers, healthcare systems, national bodies and other public-sector organisations. Assignments may include strategic options appraisals, demand and workforce modelling, financial modelling, business case development, population health analytics, benefits realisation and value-for-money assessments. 

You will develop and oversee analytical tools for healthcare redesign, mergers and major capital investment, turning complex findings into clear recommendations. Alongside client delivery, you will contribute to proposals, thought leadership, market insight and the continued growth of the team. 

Roles and responsibilities 

• Lead the successful delivery of client engagements, managing your own work and coordinating small teams to achieve agreed outcomes. 

• Design modelling and analytical approaches that address strategic, operational and financial challenges for healthcare and government clients. 

• Develop and oversee robust models, including demand, capacity, workforce, financial, economic and population health analysis. 

• Turn complex analysis into clear reports, dashboards, presentations and business cases that support senior stakeholder decisions. 

• Build effective day-to-day client relationships and facilitate workshops that help stakeholders shape and deliver change. 

• Review analytical work produced by others, providing constructive challenge and maintaining high standards of quality. 

• Support business development through market insight, thought leadership, proposals and pitches, while bringing new ideas to the team. 

• Maintain strong engagement administration, compliance and risk management while actively pursuing learning and development opportunities. 

Experience and skills needed 

• Experience of developing modelling tools and overseeing model development by colleagues, with evidence in areas such as economic or value-for-money modelling, financial analysis, demand and capacity analysis, workforce modelling or population health analytics. 

• Experience in healthcare or government, with an understanding of the strategic, operational and financial challenges facing NHS providers; knowledge of social care or local government is welcome. 

• Experience of reviewing models or analytical outputs produced by others and improving their quality, clarity and reliability. 

• Experience of using analysis to support service transformation, quantify benefits, assess value for money or inform investment decisions. 

• Experience of presenting complex findings clearly through reports, presentations, data visualisation or interactive dashboards for senior management or executive audiences. 

• Experience of managing advisory engagements, client relationships, stakeholder workshops, teams, priorities and deadlines while maintaining a high level of client service; familiarity with how generative artificial intelligence and advanced analytics can support insight, scenario planning and productivity is welcome.
