The SAP S/4HANA Functional Consultant specializing in Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) will be responsible for designing and overseeing end-to-end SAP S/4HANA solutions (on-prem/private cloud and public cloud) that integrate critical asset management and maintenance processes across Supply Chain and Finance. This role involves collaborating with business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into scalable, robust, and compliant SAP EAM solutions, ensuring seamless integration and adherence to SAP best practices. The candidate will drive the adoption of S/4HANA EAM capabilities, minimize customizations, and ensure alignment with SAP best practices for asset lifecycle management.

  • Lead the functional and technical solution design for SAP EAM implementations within S/4HANA, focusing on the integration points and dependencies between asset management, Supply Chain (e.g., spare parts procurement, inventory), and Finance (e.g., asset accounting, cost control).
  • Conduct comprehensive fit-to-standard analysis and requirements gathering workshops with business stakeholders across Maintenance, Operations, Supply Chain, to align SAP EAM capabilities with asset lifecycle management needs.
  • Design end-to-end processes for key asset lifecycle cycles such as Plan-to-Maintain (e.g., preventive, predictive, corrective maintenance), Procure-to-Retire (for assets), and integration with Procure-to-Pay for spare parts, ensuring seamless data flow and integration between modules.
  • Provide expert guidance on leveraging SAP S/4HANA EAM innovations, embedded analytics for asset performance, and intelligent technologies (e.g., IoT, predictive maintenance, mobile solutions, AI/ML tools for asset health) to optimize asset management and maintenance processes.
  • Oversee integration strategies between SAP S/4HANA EAM and non-SAP systems, including third-party applications using technologies like SAP BTP Integration Suite, APIs, and OData.
  • Ensure solution integrity across the project lifecycle for EAM, from design to go-live, and provide architectural governance to maintain consistency and cross-functional alignment.
  • Strong capability in owning the commercial aspects of client engagements, including scope definition, pricing, risk management, contract structures, and margin delivery across complex transformation programmes involving EAM.

What will you be doing? 

 

  • Deep functional expertise in SAP S/4HANA across multiple Enterprise Asset Management modules (e.g., Plant Maintenance, Customer Service, Asset Performance Management) and their integration with other modules like Materials Management, Finance, and Project Systems.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing integrated end-to-end processes that span asset management, Supply Chain, and Finance, such as maintenance costing, asset accounting integration, and spare parts management.
  • Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA EAM capabilities, innovations (e.g., Maintenance Planning, Operations, Analytics), and best practices for both Public and Private Cloud deployments, as well as on-premise considerations.
  • Expertise in SAP Activate Methodology and leading fit-to-standard workshops to drive adoption of standard SAP EAM processes.
  • Familiarity with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) for extensibility, integration, and leveraging intelligent technologies (e.g., Fiori apps, analytics) within S/4HANA for EAM.
  • Knowledge of integration patterns and technologies (e.g., OData, APIs, CPI) for connecting S/4HANA EAM with other SAP and non-SAP systems (e.g., external maintenance systems, IoT platforms).

What will you need to do it?

 

  • Extensive SAP ERP experience, specifically with cross-module integration expertise in Enterprise Asset Management with Supply Chain, and Finance.
  • Completed at least 2-3 full lifecycle S/4HANA EAM implementations (greenfield or brownfield) across various deployment models (on-premise, private cloud, public cloud).
  • Experience in leading customer workshops, defining functional business requirements for EAM, and creating detailed functional specifications and architectural blueprints.
  • Experience in guiding, mentoring, and overseeing delivery teams (onshore and offshore) focused on EAM to ensure high-quality solution delivery.
  • Well-developed analytical skills and the ability to provide clarity to complex EAM issues and synthesize large volumes of maintenance and asset data.
  • Team Lead Experience of a small team (on/offshore).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills along with strong interpersonal, team building, organisational and motivational skills.
