Role summary
The Office of the General Counsel (“OGC”) is a key part of KDN and is responsible for managing the organisation’s global legal risk.
The OGC is seeking a highly experienced Paralegal who will work directly with OGC team members (including the General Counsel) to provide valuable organisational, technical and administrative support on a mix of corporate and commercial matters. This will include liaising with non-OGC stakeholders, both within KDN and across the wider KPMG organisation, including members of senior management.
The successful candidate will support with a wide range of matters, including:
- Assisting with Board meeting preparations, including scheduling of meetings, collation and circulation of pre-read materials, plus coordination of Board Minutes
- Assisting with matter-specific Board resolutions, including coordinating any local counsel review and assisting with execution.
- Assisting with regulatory registrations, filings and related matters.
- Monitoring for relevant legislative updates in applicable jurisdictions, communicating these to team members and support with associated advice to stakeholders.
- Collating, organising and updating transaction and project documents, including version control and scheduling periodic reviews of these as necessary
- Supporting with the preparation and maintenance of transaction documents, ensuring accurate record-keeping for completed matters.
- Coordinating the production, maintenance and storage of template / precedent documents, including identification of necessary updates based on regulatory changes
Skills required:
- Significant and demonstrable experience aligned with the role, preferably gained within an in-house legal function.
- University degree or equivalent.
- Highly proficient working knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint.
- Effective communication in a multi-national corporate and business environment.
- Ability to interact with senior management and other OGC stakeholders, exercising diplomacy and good judgment.
- Fluent in English (both written and spoken).
- Highly organized and with the ability to plan ahead, including coordination of multiple deadlines and priority management.
- Acts with integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Detail oriented with an ability to quickly identify and concisely articulate solutions, including an aptitude for proof reading.
- Highly motivated and enthusiastic self-starter, able to work with multiple stakeholders, including in different time zones.
