The specialist Transfer Pricing Audit team sits within the national transfer pricing team and works across a broad range of FTSE 100 group reporting engagements and UK statutory audits to identify transfer pricing risks. About the role:
As a Transfer Pricing Manager specialising in Transfer Pricing Audit, you will manage a portfolio of audits and lead the day-to-day transfer pricing audit process. You will test whether the tax treatment of transfer pricing arrangements materially complies with the arm's length principle under UK transfer pricing legislation, applying sound judgement, analytical rigour and professional scepticism. The role combines technical delivery, project leadership, client engagement and the development of junior colleagues, with regular reporting to senior management and opportunities to strengthen knowledge across the wider transfer pricing practice.
What you'll be doing:
-
Manage a range of transfer pricing audits and lead the day-to-day transfer pricing audit process from planning through reporting.
-
Coordinate with KPMG Audit and Tax Audit teams to deliver well-integrated, high-quality audit work.
-
Act as the main point of contact for audit entity management teams, building trusted and professional working relationships.
-
Engage with audit entities to establish the relevant facts, assess evidence and identify transfer pricing risks.
-
Apply professional scepticism to challenge assumptions and evaluate whether transfer pricing arrangements materially comply with the arm's length principle.
-
Coach and develop junior team members through regular on-the-job support and the delivery of training sessions.
-
Provide clear, timely reporting to senior management on progress, findings, risks and next steps.
-
Share transfer pricing audit knowledge with the transfer pricing advisory team, contributing to consistent technical quality across the practice.
Skills, knowledge and experience you'll need:
-
A Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) qualification, or a bachelor's or master's degree in economics, finance, law, accounting or an equivalent discipline.
-
Relevant transfer pricing experience, ideally covering transfer pricing audits, policy setting, tax authority enquiries or Advance Pricing Agreements, operational transfer pricing, financing transfer pricing, project management or the management of junior team members; significant audit experience is also welcomed.
-
Sound judgement and an enquiring mindset, with the confidence to assess evidence objectively, challenge management assumptions and exercise professional scepticism.
-
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and communicate material risks clearly.
-
A positive, proactive approach, with the drive to keep technical knowledge current and help develop the capability of colleagues.
-
The ability to work autonomously, use initiative appropriately and manage competing priorities in a virtual team environment.
-
Excellent organisation, communication and project management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across Audit, Tax and client teams.
