The role is within KPMG UK’s Internal Partnership Tax Team who are responsible for dealing with all 
tax matters relating to KPMG UK. This role specifically involves advising on overseas tax compliance 
and other reporting requirements when KPMG UK colleagues travel overseas for business 
purposes. 


Responsibilities :
The key responsibility of the role is to assess and advise the business on any overseas tax and 
reporting issues arising from business travel to India (and several other countries), whether this is 
short or long term, and to manage a team to undertake the tax compliance associated with overseas 
working. 


Key responsibilities of the role include: 
• Advising the business on permanent establishment, WHT and reporting requirements 
because of business travel to India. 
• Identifying and managing operational issues and implementing changes as required to meet 
the overseas filing requirements. 
• In addition to assessing and advising on Indian tax issues, the role requires managing several 
existing overseas tax compliance requirements in countries where the firm already has a 
permanent establishment, including reviewing tax computations, correspondence with 
overseas tax authorities and dealing with enquires. 
• Working with the wider Internal Partnership Tax Team, overseas tax advisers and other 
specialists within KPMG to address overseas employment tax, indirect tax and social security 
matters arising from business travel. 
• Responsible for assessing overseas tax provisions required in the statutory accounts and 
credit relief calculations and reporting to this to the relevant teams. 
• Manage, coach, and develop team members, including undertaking the performance 
management responsibilities for managers. 
• Initiate process improvements including technology enhancements where appropriate.


Skills and Qualifications:
• CTA, ACCA, or ACA qualified.
• Minimum of 5-10 years’ international tax experience including overseas compliance and a 
minimum of 5 years UK tax experience. 
• Strong project management skills. 
• Sound judgement, including the ability to identify and evaluate risk issues and know when to 
involve others. 
• Ability to communicate confidently at all levels. 
• Team orientated with emphasis on developing technical and soft skills of the team. 
• Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel. 
• Respect for confidentiality
